Exploration of Ferrate(VI) Potential in Treating Lake Constance Water

چکیده

Occurrence of micropollutants in water and their potential impact on the environment human health are arising concerns. The not removed efficiently by current wastewater treatment a small amount them get released into receiving waters accompanying discharging treated effluents. Therefore, it is useful to investigate an advanced or alternative technology remove traces Lake Constance during drinking treatment. Among various oxidation processes, ferrate(VI) has received extensive attentions due its superior dual properties coagulation. work this communication first trial using comparison with FeCl3/ozonation treat lake region. results pilot-scale trials showed that 10% metformin, benzotriazole acesulfam can be at dose 0.1 mg L?1 from raw water, but FeCl3 without pre-ozonation cannot achieve same performance. degradability three additional followed sequences bisphenol-S (BS) > azithromycin (AZM) imidacloprid (IMP) was evaluated, 100% concentration reduction BS achieved. suggests existing processes for

Potential of constructed wetlands in treating the eutrophic water: evidence from Taihu Lake of China.

Three parallel units of pilot-scale constructed wetlands (CWs), i.e., vertical subsurface flow (VSF), horizontal subsurface flow (HSF) and free water surface flow (FWS) wetland were experimented to assess their capabilities in purifying eutrophic water of Taihu Lake, China. Lake water was continuously pumped into the CWs at a hydraulic loading rate of 0.64 m d(-1) for each treatment. One year's...

Water level variability and trends in Lake Constance in the light of the 1999 centennial flood

The extreme flood of Lake Constance in 1999 focused attention on the variability of annual lake levels. The year 1999 not only brought one of the highest floods of the last 180 years but also one of the earliest in the season. The 1999 extreme event was caused by heavy rainfall in the alpine and pre-alpine regions. The influence of precipitation in the two distinct regional catchments on lake l...

Effects of water level variations on the dynamics of the reed belts of Lake Constance

Following the extreme flood at Lake Constance in 1999 the reed belts of the shore of Baden-Württemberg lost approximately 30 ha (24%) of their lakeside reed beds. This loss is comparable with the situation in the late 1960s, when approximately 40 ha died back due to the extreme flood in 1965 and due to the high spring water levels in the subsequent years. In the time period between the extreme ...

Seasonal variation of solitary wave properties in Lake Constance

[1] The properties of internal solitary waves (ISWs) depend on the stratification of the water body. In most climatic regions the stratification in lakes and oceans varies during the year, and hence the properties of the ISWs can also be expected to change over the seasons. On the basis of a long-term temperature time series recorded over 6 years, this paper investigates seasonal changes in the...
